Every event is an opportunity for our team to connect heart-to-heart with our Maui community. We cherish these moments where we can sit together, share stories, and listen deeply to your experiences and challenges. Our events are crafted to create a warm, welcoming space where those affected can feel supported and understood. Whether we’re gathering for workshops or hosting local events, our goal is to ensure you know you’re not alone in this journey of healing and recovery.
The Malu i Ka ʻUlu program is dedicated to promoting mental health and self-healing for Maui County residents affected by the Maui wildfires. Malu i Ka ʻUlu translates to “shaded by the breadfruit tree” in Hawaiian and symbolizes protection, peace, nourishment, and growth. Just as the Pu’uhonua system provided shelter and rejuvenation, we aim to offer a restorative space for individuals to regain their strength and continue their journey with renewed energy and resilience.
All counseling services provided by the Malu i Ka ʻUlu program are offered free of charge. Malu i Ka ʻUlu's goal is to ensure that everyone affected by the Maui wildfires has access to the support they need without financial barriers.
No, you do not need to be a current resident of Maui to qualify for our services. Our program serves anyone affected by the Maui wildfires, regardless of their current location. Please contact us to learn how we can assist you.
If you have been affected by the Maui wildfires but have since relocated, you can still receive support. We offer remote counseling sessions over the phone to ensure that you can access help wherever you are.
Our counselors are committed to maintaining strict confidentiality in all counseling sessions. We ensure that every session is conducted in a secure and private environment, safeguarding your personal information and discussions.
