County to hold June 18 informational webinar about Park Maui pilot program updates

Community members are encouraged to attend a Park Maui informational webinar hosted by the County of Maui Department of Transportation that will offer updates on the pilot program and gather community feedback on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 5 to 6 p.m. via Zoom. Launched in 2023, the County parking pilot program aims to improve management and accessibility at beach parks, business districts and other highly used areas on Maui.

“Park Maui is designed to improve parking management in high-demand areas while balancing the needs of our island’s residents, businesses and visitors,” County Department of Transportation Director Marc Takamori said. “We encourage the community to attend the June 18 webinar, learn more about the proposed improvements and share their feedback to help shape the future of the program.”

Webinar topics for the June 18 meeting include:

  • The status of the Park Maui pilot program in Wailuku
  • The new Parking Ambassador Program, managed by Diamond Parking Services
  • Proposed parking locations, rates and time limits pending Maui County Council approval
  • Resident and employee parking benefits, including permits for the Wailuku Garage
  • Planned technology tools, including new pay stations and the Park Maui mobile app

Featuring a presentation by County consultants Dixon Resources Unlimited, the meeting will also have a question-and-answer session with consultants and County staff.

For individuals unable to attend, the presentation will be recorded and made available at www.parkmaui.com.
