The Maui Economic Recovery Commission (ERC) is a coalition of vibrant community leaders, representing the richness of Maui and Hawai‘i's diverse tapestry. Together, we stand united in our vision to keep our local people home and steer hope toward a brighter economic future.
Comprised of influential community stakeholders across various sectors - from business and culture to economics and workforce development - the ERC embodies the spirit of collaboration and service. Sponsored by the State of Hawai‘i Departmental of Business, Economic Development & Tourism (DBEDT) and guided by the capable leadership of Jimmy Tokioka (DBEDT) and Luana Mahi (County's Office of Economic Development), this commission aims to uplift Maui after the challenges of the 2023 fires.
At its core, the ERC is dedicated to fostering inclusivity, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued. Our collective purpose revolves around generating recommendations that drive Maui's economic resurgence while empowering local residents to shape their community's recovery.

We're embarking on a journey of discovery and collaboration. The initial phase involves learning, listening, and exchanging insights to chart the best course forward. From January through April, our facilitated Zoom meetings will serve as spaces for diverse perspectives to converge, fostering understanding and shared learnings.
As we progress, we invite every member to actively engage, share insights, and gather feedback from their communities. Together, we're weaving a tapestry of hope, resilience, and prosperity for Maui's brighter tomorrow.
