The U.S. Treasury has established new tax relief programs for qualified businesses and entities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. These include:
The SBA will pay 6 months of principal, interest, and any associated fees that borrowers owe for all current 7(a), 504, and Microloans in regular servicing status as well as new 7(a), 504, and Microloans disbursed prior to September 27, 2020. Nonprofits providing public assistance feedings during this pandemic may qualify for cost reimbursements under this Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant program. Once your application is completed, you will be contacted by the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HIEMA). You should also attend a HIEMA webinar to get more information. FEMA assistance is provided at 75% federal cost share. Maui County residents 60 years or older, their spouses of any age, and grandparents 55 years or older who are raising grandchildren may be eligible for the Feeding Maui Nui program. If you have been impacted by COVID-19 and are quarantined and unable to work, or your workplace has been temporarily closed, assistance might be available through the State labor programs. The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR) will do all that they can to ensure that impacted Hawaii workers receive the benefits for which they are eligible for.

Program can provide assistance towards rent or household utility bills going back to March 13, 2020, current bills, or future bills, depending on a household’s needs.
